UK Challenge Events

TreeHouse greatly values people who offer to embark on a challenge on our behalf. If you would like to support us in this way, you would be welcome to visit TreeHouse and hear more about our work so that you can explain to your sponsors what they are supporting. We will also produce tailored sponsorship forms for you and provide any further information or advice that you may need.

These events have the benefit of being pre-arranged, so you just need to complete the appropriate training, raise funds through sponsorship and have a great time on the day!

BRIGHTON MARATHON - 18 APRIL 2010

Sunday 18 April 2010 will see the very first Brighton Marathon take place and TreeHouse are thrilled to be a part of it!  The course will take in the best of the city centre and as well as the scenic stretches of coastal road, including the panoramic views of the South Downs meeting the English Channel.

Your own Fundraiser will be able to offer you support with your fundraising, as well as providing you with a supporters' pack and TreeHouse running vest.  The Brighton marathon has been highly anticipated and as a result, places are expected to fill up quickly.  For details on how you could secure one of our guaranteed places, please contact Lisa Yiasemides at lyiasemides@treehouse.org.uk or on 0208 815 5139, or for more information on the event itself please visit the Brighton Marathon website.

VIRGIN LONDON MARATHON – 25 APRIL 2010

Do you have your own place in the Virgin London Marathon 2010 but haven’t yet decided to run for a charity? We would love you to run for TreeHouse and be part of a small but very beautiful team who are running ambitiously for autism. We really know how to look after our Marathon Team and will invite you to visit our brand new Pears National Centre for Autism Education so that you can see first hand the difference your support will be making to thousands of children and their families affected by autism. We will also give you

  • A dedicated TreeHouse Fundraiser to give you lots of support

JUST WALK - 15 MAY 2010

Looking to challenge yourself?  Just Walk is a fantastic alternative to many other challenge events.  Whether you choose to gather up some friends or go it alone, Just Walk is a great way to get fit, complete a personal challenge and support the thousands of children with autism in the UK at the same time.  There are also four distances – 10km, 20km, 40km or the full on 60km – to choose from, so why not sign up today?

GREAT LONDON SWIM - 3 JULY 2010

The Great London Swim is a rare opportunity to swim against the striking urban background of Canary Wharf and the rejuvenated London Docklands area, in a one mile event. 2010 will be the second year of the event, which promises to be bigger and better than before, with an improved event village for participants to enjoy at the end of the race.  In addition, highlights of the event will be televised on Channel 4!

There are no charity places for this event, but don't let that stop you from taking part!  You can register for your own place through The Great Swim website. Once you have your own place, we would really like to offer you support with your fundraising, so please contact Lisa on 020 8815 5139 or at lyiasemides@treehouse.org.uk to receive your very own TreeHouse t-shirt and supporters' pack.

ASICS BRITISH 10K - 11 JULY 2010

2010 will see the 10th Asics British 10K taking place.  This event has built up a huge reputation in the last 10 years, taking in some of London's most impressive landmarks and attracting thousands of supporters each year.

TreeHouse has had some fantastic teams taking part on our behalf.  Each year British 10K places sell out, so why not sign up with TreeHouse for a guaranteed place?  We will give you loads of support to help you reach your £300 fundraising target and will be there to cheer you on the day!

JUST BIKE - 18 SEPTEMBER 2010

Following the huge success of the very first Just Bike in October 2009, the second event will take place on Sunday 18 September 2010.  Experienced participants can choose either the 50km or 100km cycle routes, which are based at Coate Water Country Park near Swindon.  Also new for 2010 is a 30km route, which would suit those who are new to cycling.

This beautiful park is just 5 minutes from the M5 and is on the edge of some of the most stunning countryside in the UK, however the terrain is challenging and there are plenty of muddy patches along the way!

THE ROYAL PARKS HALF MARATHON 2010

The Royal Parks Half Marathon is entering its third year in 2010 and it has already become one of the most hotly anticipanted events in the sporting calendar. Taking in 4 of the 8 royal parks, the Half Marathon has one of the most picturesque courses in London.

In 2009, TreeHouse was delighted to have a team of 10 supporters taking part in aid of autism education and this year, we expect the event to be bigger and better than ever. If this sounds like the event for you and you feel confident in raising a miminum of £400 in sponsorship, then we would love to hear from you. THE GRIM CHALLENGE - DECEMBER 2010 (DATE TBC)

TreeHouse is proud to announce that we will be an affiliated charity of the Grim Challenge 2010.  The popular event will be spread over two days, so you have the choice of participating on Saturday 5 or Sunday 6 December.  The 8 mile course will require you to not only run, but also wade, crawl and paddle your way through mud, water and cargo nets - this is not an event for the faint-hearted!
