What if I disagree with the statement?
If you disagree with Parts 2, 3 or 4 of the statement, you can appeal to the Tribunal.
Note that you cannot force anyone to provide the help in Part 6 and you cannot appeal against Parts 5 or 6 so it is important that all your child’s educational needs and help are in Parts 2 and 3.
The help in Part 3 must be made by law.
Make sure speech and language needs and therapy are in Parts 2 and 3. The courts have said that this therapy is almost always educational. Other therapies may also have an educational element. If they appear in Parts 5 and 6 you may need to say why you think they are educational and ask for them to be moved to Parts 2 and 3.
