New Year's Resolutions?

Woops, I once again didn't answer my own question.
I'm one of these people who doesn't do New Year's resolutions. For me, the Autumn is my most introspective season and round about the time everyone starts going back to school I too start feeling that sense of a 'new year'.
But if I had to make a resolution for this year, it would be to do yoga more often. I know that I feel so much better in my body & mind when I practice regularly.
As for what I look forward to - this year I'm looking forward to all the travel plans that have yet to be made. I'm hoping to visit San Francisco and Vancouver, and Italy would be nice as well...

Hi
My goal for next year is to be more focused and also to enjoy my life and family more and not allow myself to get caught up in the negatives.
I did say that I would attempt to learn to drive again.. I tried a few years ago but my heart wasnt in it. Will have to wait and see on that one :)
Am also going to continue with my tarot cards.. I started reading them back in February and want to make sure that I continue doing it .

I love your first one, Leanne. I too need to consider how much I let the negatives affect me.
I actually have decided to have 1 resolution for 2010 - to spend more time relaxing, and to find ways of building relaxation into my life.

My New Year resolution is quite similar to most that have already been mentioned.
I too would like to make time for myself without feeling guilty and focus more on what I love which is Yoga practice. I work full time so I rarely have time for anything else as you are all aware once I get home another full time job starts.

I really love yoga too, Lillian, and would like to be more serious about my practice. Have you heard of yogatoday.com? They give away 1 free class online each week. American instructors. You just create an account and then stream the free weekly class on your computer. Their blog also has shorter sessions which are all free, and which help for those moments when you're too busy for a longer practice. :-)

Elena,
Thanks for the link, I have been looking at it and I think you have just given me the perfect daily practice ideas.
I am generally doing alright, I try to practice every morning for about half an hour but some times if Joseph has had a bad night then I am too exhausted to wake up in time to pratice. This year I really wan to focus especially on medition as a means of making me feel more calm and centred.
Good luck with your practice, I would love for us to keep each other motivated, may be that way we may just achieve our goal together.

That's a good idea, Lillian - to help motivate each other. Any ideas of how to do that? Perhaps we can have a discussion set aside for those of us who are working on achieving a goal of some kind, to discuss and provide encouragement, etc.
Happy New Year and New Decade to everyone! : )

Actually, Lillian, I had forgotten that we've got a "hobbies & interests" discussion here:
http://www.treehouse.org.uk/forums/general-discussion/social/2243
Maybe that will be a nice place to chat about yoga and keep one another motivated!

So how is everyone getting on with their New Year's resolutions?
I'm doing ok, especially on the yoga side of things, though still need to work on the "relaxing" more. I'm very aware that I'm staying too busy. I guess change starts with awareness so now that I see it very clearly I need to take steps to remedy this. I'm thinking of making a temporary 'rule' for myself that after 9:30 I just rest, read or watch something.
I hope you're all seeing progress as well!

New Year's Eve is coming up soon... This is always a really nice time for looking back over the past and forward to the coming year, and the future.
Do you have a New Year's resolution that you would be up for sharing with us? If you don't do resolutions what's something that you really look forward to in 2010?
