funny things kids do

Hi new here first time trying this dont know if it will work!  First if you havent read my intro dont expect a quick answer to any questions usually anoly get on internet once a week at work. Work 3 nights but only have access on 1 so can go on in early hours when quiet.

Anyway to the point. I just wanted to hear of funny quirky things your kids do. You know the things that make u laugh but probably dont people with "NORMAL" kids. Like my son he has very few word and of which he does have doesnt use often apart from NO that is when i ask him to do something! Well one thing he does my husband and i laugh about is him doing what we call the beep test (remember that as a kid in pe running up and down hall touching each wall b4 the next beep?) well he does it in our front room going aaaaaaaaa as he does, got marks on wall wearing paper down he does so much! Earlier i read on another site about a mother struggle with her son in a shop changing room trying to get him to put clothes on couldnt help but laugh out loud(in office) at the t shirt off on off on off on off on off! same struggle all the time thankfully not in public. if not going out just leave him so amount of time i have a naked 4 year old running up and down my front room doing the beep test! Dread people suddly turning up unannounced!! Odd routines would be nice to hear as well. example mine has to sit on same seat on sofa to eat food with a cover off a old cook book on his lap! cant remember how it happend just did! Got loads more but think iv waffled on for far too long now so leave it at that.

This is a great discussion, Kitty - thanks for starting it!  I can't wait to hear all the amusing tales people will share. :-P

We were sitting in a car showroom the other day and my daughter was rather unhappy about this so I got her drawing pad out. She drew a weather picture and then said 'open the door' and drew a really good picture of a door. I was really pleased to see her drawing such nice clear pictures and telling me what they were. She then drew a long wavy set of parallel lines and when I asked what it was was she said 'water' (a river maybe I thought). She turned the page and drew the same thing again and again said it was water but this time she drew some circular shapes in it. When I asked what these shapes were it sounded as if she said 'poo' but I wasn't sure so asked again. She then told me in a loud voice that it was indeed 'POO'. On closer inspection I realised that she had drawn our downstairs toilet pipe with her Poo travelling along it!

2 years ago,we had bought a trampoline and it was the summer but it was pouring with rain,so he ran out completely naked bouncing in the rain on this trampoline with a big grin on his face and all i could do was laugh, because it was funny to watch.

Hi

I have just returned from taking my youngest, with his class, to the pantomime. All was going well until he started shouting ,at the top of his voice ' smack time' over and over again. For a child who apparently cant tell the time his body clock is very well tuned to 'snack time'.

Hi Kitty

Welcome to the group.  Great topic!   My son is always coming out with things that I find hilarious, but unfortunately it doesnt impress him when I laugh and he is actually starting to recogise all my little trick to try to avoid laughing which just makes it even funnier.

A few weeks ago I was chatting to a friend on the phone about going to the dentist and he chimed in with "what toothache at your age!!!", my friend who could hear this was in stitches at the other end of the phone and she still talks about it.

Like you son and probably many others he has quite a few rigid routines;  he has to have his shower at ten to ten at night, if he or I forget and it is past that time, he just wont have a shower that night.  He has to use certain cutlery for certain foods and watch certain programmes which fit in with his routine, ie, Everybody Loves Raymond and when it finishes in the morning that is when he leaves for school.  He is obsessive about combing his hair and it has to be just so ;)  I could go on, but that's enought for now!!

Look forward to hearing more humourous stories!!

LOLz at everyone!  Too funny....

I love this discussion so much - I'm going to make it a "sticky" item so that we can remember to share the funny moments. There are lots of sticky items in the social section but I think it's important to keep some stuff at the top of the list so we don't forget about them. : )

Reading this discussion has really made me smile today......loving the topic...and welcome Kitty :0)

My son is always talking about how some things are for just boys/girls etc and it reminded me of when Josie was in pre-school. One day she came out of nursery and said 'I know the difference between boys and girls Mum' ...  I thought OH NO, not this conversation already!! then she said 'Girls have purses and boys have wallets' .... Perfect answer and very sweet!!
