Now I'm very jealous that you're going to Ireland. I was there this time last year, just a flying visit to Cork. I think I might have to arrange another trip for the New Year: somwhere between my trip to London/Kent and my long walk.

Hi Sara,
Don't be jealous, we will be taken from the airport to a hotel, the party is in the hotel and the next day we will leave the hotel and be taken back to the airport!! Not that I am complaining, but we aren't getting to see Ireland! Just a hotel in Ireland!!
Hi Leanne,
Us too, my husbands Mum and Dad are Irish and so are my grandparents so we have a lot of family scattered from Waterford, to Dublin to County Gallway....We have spent time in cities and in the sticks! But the kids love it out in the countryside the most and I love both....When we stay in the really rural areas, I find it so funny when we go into the farmers pub in the evening with Pat and his uncles....the looks I get!! IT'S A WOMAN!!! Anyway, I am hoping for a decent drink of Guiness and a bit of the Irish Rover and I'll be happy! :0)

My Dad was Irish and I have lots of relatives still living there: Cork, Sligo, Tipperary, Galway. I spent many happy holidays there as a child and hubby and I went there for our honeymoon.
Have a great weekend, Claire.

Hi girls
More commonality: My parents were both Irish, my mum from Donegal and my dad from Sligo. I was in Sligo when I was very young and dont remember much about it, but I love Donegal although I havent been for 20 years or so, still have a lot of family over there in what they call the "back country" ie back of beyond. I could quite happily live over there.

Wow! How extraordinary! Was in Sligo last year. I could definitely live there. I did say I'm move there after my dad died but circumstances changed. I am a bit nearer though (from Kent to Cornwall).

I'm feeling shattered right now and looking forward to doing absolutely nothing this weekend.
My mum's not at all well (again) and it's likely that she will have to be sectioned and move into a psychiatric nursing home :( And I've got another cold!!! Right, that's enough feeling sorry for myself, time for a doughnut.

Hi Nicky
Hope you've scoffed a box of crusty creme donuts & feelin a little better now. I can really understand how you feel as Glenns mum spent the last 9 years of her life in psychiatric nursing home so if ever you need a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to who has been a similar situation, feel free to contact me anytime.
Dylan has an awful cold & cough at he moment, his poor little face is all sore from where he keeps wiping his nose & his lips are all cracked. As I sit here typing now I'm listening to the tune of him snoring on the baby monitor! He always snores really loudly!!
I feel a little bit overwhelmed with life at the moment, I seem to have so much goin on, so much to do & not enough hours in the day to do it. I feel constantly tired too with no energy to do any of it, I'm very behind with my xmas shoppin too & everyday off I have had from work recently has been tied up with appts's etc.
Anyways enough moaning, perhaps I need a donut or 6 aswell!

Hi Tracy
This time of year can be an absolute nightmare.. especially when you have 2 little ones.I can remember trying to fit xmas shopping in my lunch hour because trying to shop on my days off with the kids was a complete no no.
Now I do a majority of shopping on line - I know its not as lovely as exploring the shops but its the only way to fit it in around the kids.Another thing I do to make life a little easier is make lists.. for me things never seem as bad when they are written down and I seem to stop stressing about them :)
Hope Dylan gets better really soon - I used to use snuffle baby for mine when they were little with colds,it was the only thing that seemed to give them any relief with their blocked noses. Its so sad seeing them with their little sore noses etc :( do you use vaseline for Dylans cracked lips - my 2 suffer from eczema and so I have to make sure they use plenty of that on their lips or they suffer.
At the moment i am bright eyed and bushy tailed at 2am - not good !! My middle son has just woken me with 'I feel sick' and so I am on nurse duty in the living room with him snuggled on the sofa bed.Thank goodness I was in bed at 9 last night tomorrow will be a long day :)
