Hi Amy, I noticed you put a US address when registering and thought I'd stop in to say that I'm pretty sure this is for UK residents since it's on the BBC.... : )

Hi everyone!
I just got this request through from a production company called prospect who are looking to develop a documentary for the BBC for their Autism Season coming up this Spring. Have a look - it looks very interesting!
Nia
The BBC is looking to celebrate the diverse and extraordinary abilities of many young autistic people with a special eventthat will help bring awareness to the positive and highly creative side of autism. As Scott James recently showed us withhis appearance on the X-Factor, performing can be fantastic therapy, helping to develop social skills and confidencelevels as well as break down many commonly held misconceptions about autism. The proposed event will be documented in a two-part series, due to be broadcast in the spring as part of the BBC’s season on autism.
We are looking to find young people on the autistic spectrum (aged 29 or under) with any kind of gift that they feel ready to share, be it musical, artistic, dance or simply an amazing memory or keen interest in numbers or figures. Whilst we are not just focusing on savant-level autism since we want to move away from this stereotype, their talent will need to be surprising and exceptional.
If this event does go ahead then it is likely to take place in April, although the exact details have yet to be finalised. At the moment our primary concern is to assess what level of talent and interest in the project there is out there. What we can say with certainty is that the emotional wellbeing of every individual, should they become involved, would be paramount, and all the participants would receive constant support throughout the process, be it from their own mentor or teacher, or from an expert performance coach that we would provide.
If you would like more information, or if you know anyone who might be interested in participating, please do get in touch by emailing jess.colmer@prospect-uk.com or calling 0208 563 6995.
