Hello Adrian and welcome,
I got diagnosed after about five years of thinking that I was on the spectrum - this was after my son was diagnosed and I read some books on the subject. It wasn't the official line that I agreed with absolutely as applied to myself, but more the autobiographical accounts of others who had been diagnosed + I started to recognise the patterns and difficulties. I think hearing others talk or write about it who are on the spectrum is probably the best route into information about it.
Damian

Hi
Already posted in the Intro section, thought i better put my face in here
Erm, a little about me i guess :-
Dyslexic ( <<-- Thank god for google and its built in spell checker! )
OCD
And after listening to Sara today im now sure of some form of other Autisim going on too , though i kinda knew/thought that to be so for awhile.
Whilst im posting i better ask one of many questions i have :-
Should i go and see someone about my autism? as in get it labled or whatever, sorry about my clumsy putting this down, got a flood of info trying to pour though my fingers and cant quite get it out, if you know what i mean.
Ive been of the option of not bothering to see anyone about this, i know its on the ASD scale somewhere, so why bother getting someone to point and say, well, thats where you are Adrain.
Im sure someone here will say why i should, which is why im here
So happy to find this place btw, really enjoyed Sara's talk today
Adrian ^_^
