Does your son watch the baby tv channel or have you introduced him to the baby bumblebee dvds.. its what I used when my son was completely non-verbal. I have some dvds I could lend to you to see if its something that would help. Another suggestion I would make would be to have subtitles on when he is watching anything as they can be visual learners.

Hi Leanne, I'm afraid he's a Thomas Tank or Tom and Jerry boy mostly. He doesn't like Cbeebies, and is terrified of Chuggington!! Weirdly, that's when he's most verbal, complaining about what I've put on the telly!
We do try different things. OH had a nostagia moment and bought a dvd of the Clangers, both kids loved it!
Unfortunatly, some days you just can't do anything right.

I sometimes think the older programmes are better because they work at a slower pace, allowing more time for processing. Children's TV nowadays seems very fast with lots of different images crammed in together. I don't know if anyone else feels the same.
When I was teaching, a favourite end of term video for my many classes was an old copy of Wacky Races!
