Hello,
I'm in the process of writing my dissertation the focus of which is
How do young adults with autism experience the transition to adult services
Having
worked with young people with autism and severe learning
difficulties, I am all too aware of the lack of literature concerning
transition to adulthood for people with autism and of the stress and
worry
families can experience at the time of transition.
This research will be my
attempt to add to our understanding of the struggles and successes experienced
by parents, carers and professionals of those with severe autism at the period
of transition into adult services. Specifically, this dissertation is concerned with
collecting the views of parents, carers and professionals about the transition
to adult services for young people with autism.
The data collected will be
used as part of my 8000 word dissertation, which forms part of the assessment
on my undergraduate degree.
So if anymore has been through the transition process to adult services and wouldn't mind participating in a short (30 mins) interview please get in touch.
For any respondents who agree to take part
in this research, identities will
be kept anonymous by using pseudonyms and all information given will be
confidential. Throughout the research respondents will also have the right to stop at
any time with no further reasoning and they may ask for their data to be
withdrawn after the research has been conducted.
If you have any further
questions please feel free to contact me by email (sammirix@hotmail.com) or by phone
(07917800382).
Thank you for your time.
