What made you happy today?

Now that the Rant Room is up and running, I think it's time we set aside a space for sharing the good things that happen to us - the successes we've had.

Please use this discussion to share anything that made you happy today (or recently). This can be autism-related or not.

EDIT: We also now have a section called Tales of battles fought and won. If you're happy because you've got a success story, please also come share it with us there - we'd like to build up a section of success stories!

I look forward to hearing your positive stories!

Oh! I guess I should go first!

Today I am happy about 2 things:

1. I'm happy that Hollie, Thomas and Lia have come forward to join in our Autism expert!! questions and answers discussion. This has already had a hugely positive impact on talk about autism and our members.

2. I'm feeling happy to be in Bristol. It's taken me nearly 6 years of living in the UK to get to a place where I feel immensely happy to call this place "home". It was good to visit my family and friends in Texas, but this is where I belong now. : )

Great idea Elena.

I serve the school dinners at Stuart's school, and today we had chocolate pudding and chocolate sauce. The kids usually scoff the lot, but today there was a bit left over - well it would have been a shame to throw it away (yummy!!!)

Hi

I am very happy that the bouncy castle that I hired for Alistairs Birthday on Sunday has eventually been collected (only hired it for the day!!).... dont think the kids will be as thrilled tomorrow morning.

Also really chuffed that Alistair said a 6 word sentence  - unprompted. It was 'I read Ben 10 tag readie' clever boy!!

Leanne

Well done Alistair :)

I remember the first time Stuart showed empathy for another child. This child had fallen over and was crying and he went up to her and said 'are you OK?'. I was almost in tears - I think the girl's mum thought I'd gone mad! These things seem so small but are such huge strides for our little ones.

Well done Alistair!!

I'm happy cos I'm going to Spain for the weekend and the kids are staying at home being ammused by their auntie!! This is our first break away from home alone in 5 years!! Sangria here I come!!

I'm also happy because my daughter Josie is finally at an amazing school run by real experts....she is thriving and they love her to bits.....in fact they rang the other day to catch up with me on her progress and asked if I had anymore like her because she is always smiling and she is like a ray of sunshine! ...... one child sorted 2 to go...that's a 3rd of the battle over!! ........ Off to the sunshine peeps see you all next week :0) X

My day was made brighter today when I bought freshly picked carrots and parsnips from the roadside in my village...(people grow their own and leave surplus for people to buy)

I felt so silly as its the first time I have bought 'real' veg.. all different shapes ,sizes with leaves, mud and everything!!!

How sad am I !!

Hi

I am a  very very happy bunny this morning because Johnathon has checked his checklist... hooray !!

Complete break through... On Thursday we told him checking his checklist = free time.. its taken 2 days of him refusing to but today he relented. So very a very happy household, he has done everything he needs to without me nagging and he gets to watch TV and play PS2 to his hearts content..

yeah success, nothing like a breakthrough to make your day!!
