Now if she has slapped some folk she is not likely to broadcast it all over the web. ha!ha!ha!
Now I would like to slap a few people about. I have just been into the "Autism Speaks" fb group (or at least one of them, there are several). I cant believe the things that are being said in there! You know there is a guy and a girl who are going crazy, using foul language and calling two young girls some appalling names because they are saying Aspergers is autism and these two other clowns are calling them for everything. I was going to be a good girl and ignore it ... but I just had to sort them out. (politely of course).
That's all for now, folks!!

I'm not sure if they have a section for whingeing. Only kidding. It's tough I know, teens are a mystery to most of us, teens with aspergers I am only just learning about myself, my son is 13 and complicated!
I am concerned at the large number of people who tell me that to get any reliable diagnosis they had to go private. I have had years of the same old issues with my LEA and forward progress is slow if at all. We all need to be shouting at them for change.
Have you told him how many famous aspies there are?

Hi Leanne and Josie...
You two really make me giggle!! Well done for sorting that lot out on FB Josie! I didn't read it myself, just don't have the energy to deal with people like that...what a waste of energy arguing over diagnosis! Actually saying that, I did point out to the LA that Hollie's diagnosis is wrong on her statement! But to be fair I was trying to make the point that only her name address and age were actually correct or relevant so everything else was wrong!
Leanne...Thank you for your kind words, but I am just a Mum that had a choice to sink or swim......no choice really, I never did like the word 'NO'! In my mind....no = CHALLENGE!! and I have always been one of those people who would have to do something if challenged to do it!.....I don't want to slap them...(not anymore anyway !!). I just think that if I waste my emotion or energy on them trying to rile me up, then I take my eye off the ball and actually I think that is their main aim most of the time......I hope I'm allowed to say that, but I truly believe that there are some very dodgy tactics being used! Any which way to save money eh?! I never used to be this calm about this stuff, I would rant for England to anyone who would listen! but I think that the stuff I have learnt from our Barrister and by going through these processes makes me a pretty tough apponent for them.....I just don't get paid like they do!! I wonder if it ever occured to the LA's to hire some parents to help them get it right......nah that's too simple!!

I posted a comment on the 'what made you happy' but wanted to make sure I thanked you,

I need to have a rant.
Why do shops insist on playing horrible music? I've spent the day in Exeter trying to buy a rucksack and every shop I went into had music playing. They seem to turn the bass up just to annoy me! I walked straight out of the first few shops. I was so stressed I didn't know whether to shout or cry. I couldn't concentrate because the music was invading my other senses. I nearly fell down some steps because I couldn't see properly. I gave up in the end and came home empty handed. I would buy it mail order but I really need to try it on to check it fits and feels comfortable.
Am I the only person who hates music playing in shops? It's not just shops. What about cafes and pubs? I've lost count of the number of times I've walked out of a place because of their loud music. What's the point in sitting down to have a drink or eat a meal if you have to shout to be heard? Could we have autism friendly shopping days?

Hi Sara and Tom
Yes, I have this problem with my son (who is another Tom). Although it has lessened with the passing of time, but I still tend to go to shopping centres very early when there are no crowds as he seems to cope with the music when he doesnt have to cope with crowds on top if it. I have to admit I dont like the blaring music either ... I cant hear myself think and I dont have any sensory issues so it must be absolutely horrendous for anyone who does.

My kids have been brilliant about my hypersensitivities. I had to go shopping with my daughter once for her birthday present. She wanted clothes. The week before, she went shopping and tried on the clothes she wanted so she knew which sizes to get. When I went with her, we just quickly visited each shop and bought the stuff she had chosen. She built in 'bookshop breaks' for me. (Bookshops are excellent because they are quiet, serene and have places to sit and read). She took me to Subway for lunch but, as we were choosing our food, they switched the music on so we left and went to a quiet place down the road.
I usually shop at quiet times or by mail order. I like bookshops and outdoor shops becasue they tend to be quiet and the people who frequent them are usually quite calm. In crowded shops, I worry that I will get 'shop rage' and start screaming and pushing people. Hasn't happened yet.
