Hi Debbie! It's great to have you here.
It sounds like you have been blessed with a very open and caring family. I'm sure this makes a huge difference in your life. I hope they know how much you appreciate them! : )
I think you're finding what I have found with regard to my own health issues - that it's all about trial and error. Some things work and some don't. And then some things work great for some people and don't work at all for others. I'm glad that you saw really good results from the fish oil.
I'm looking forward to hearing more from you! : )

Hi Deb and welcome.
I have a 6 year old with HFA. He is a very affectionate and funny boy who makes everyone smile. We also have a son of 11, and you are absolutely right - siblings don't always get the recognition they deserve. He is (mostly) very patient with his little brother and cares deeply for him. I also have a wonderful hubby who is very 'hands-on' with everything (he even does the ironing!!!)
School are also fantastic - his teacher said that she loves having him there as he gives them a different perspective on things.
That's not to say that we don't sometimes get overwhelmed by his problems, but we couldn't wish for a more supportive network of family and friends, so I think we are very lucky.
Anyway, welcome to the forum :)

hey
Ok thats not fair!!! You have a hubby who does the ironing??? Send him here, i will pay him good wages!! lol
Im so glad your son is doing well at school, as mine isnt, since having him on this Focus formular. I am taking him off it today. The teacher rang to say that he will be suspended if his violent behaviour continues. He was NEVER violent before the Focus. I am not putting the product down, every child is an individual, and it may help others, but its not working for MySonJack!!!! Love to hear back. Deb from Aussie

Hi Deb
My hubby's been offered money for ironing many times by my friends - I'm sure he could set up his own business!! I hope taking your son off the Focus formula helps - we tried gluten and dairy-free for a while but it made no difference. It really is a case of trial and error - as you say, what works for ane child may not work for another.
We have found that our boy has been much more settled since he's had a regular 1 to 1 teacher at school, but as I've mentioned on another thread, our request for an assessment by the local education authority has been turned down, so there's a worry that this help may not last. Never mind, we'll just have to keep fighting.
Take care
Nicky

Hello everyone
My name is Debbie, and i have just signed up on this great site. I have a 7 year old son with Autism, and he is soooo loved by all our family and friends. He is such a goodlooking boy, with loads of energy and enthusiasm for life. He loves to sing and read his "single" words, and write his name. He has a thing for cars and blocks, he cant get enough of fresh air and loves to play with his 2 border collies. He has 2 older sisters who have taught him many things along the way. Their help has been a blessing for me, and i couldnt do it without them sometimes!!!! I dont think older siblings get enough credit. I have a wonderful husband who is so supportive, and loves Autism as much as he loves his son. He gets involved in everthing, i am very lucky. Jack is in special ed (year 2) . In Kindy he had no words. So i immediatly put him on 3,000mgs of fish oil, and he can now hold a conversation, loads of eye contact, hugs, kisses, dresses himself, and so on. I am still dealing with his ADHD which is sometimes depressing and frustrating for both jack and my family. But we were dealt the cards, so we deal with it. My eldest daughter has a mild case of Tourette Syndrome, in high school and doing quite well, but when she gets home, she doesnt get the peace that every teenager deserves. She also has a sister in the middle who also has ADHD, so its very hard on her. I have recently ordered ThreeLac, because Jack scored high (360) for yeast overgrowth. I hope it works. I ordered "Focus formular" but that is not working. He has been on focus for 2 weeks. Anyway i could go on forever, but i would love to hear from others.
