That's terrible! I haven't seen any adverts for new staff.
Maybe they were waiting for the new government just to see if they could still afford qualified staff. Why does it need two managers if there aren't any other staff? One to answer the phone and one to do the filing?

Lol Sara!
But seriously, it seems that the idea was always to run the new team as a critical case project, so the only peole that would get help are those with children who could either harm themselves or others or that may be in danger of harm.
It is appalling that they are treating families in this way

The NAS is about to launch a new campaign to raise awareness of mental health issues in children with ASD.

Hi all,
Hollie is one of the young campaigners on the NAS's campaign to reform the CAMHS for children with autism. Their campaign is called YOU NEED TO KNOW and its extreemly well done and well researched. We first got involved last summer when the NAS travelled the country talking to parents and children who had various degrees of autism and who had used the CAMHS service. The launch is on the 8th June (I think) in the House of Commons and there has been so much interest from politicians, they may have to turn some away because there isnt enough room!
I'll let you know how it all goes....Hollie and the others are making a film too which I am not sure how it will be used but it is also for this CAMHS campaign and raising awareness....

This may be in the wrong place so please move it if it is.
This is something others, I feel, should be aware of!
Back in July 2009 we began to be told that there were certain families that would be transferred from Plymouth CAMHS to a new team's care at Devon CAMHS.
So all the families concerned were okay with this as it seemed it may be better to be a little closer etc.
WRONG!
The only thing this new team have are two managers it seems.
There is no Psychologist, no Psychiatrist and no other staff, we are informed that it can take 6 months to employ the important staff.
We have just all received letters stating that due to staffing problems the only ones who can expect appointments in the near future are those at risk of harming others or being harmed!
WHY, oh why force a change like this when you know, there will be no service?
What are we supposed to do now? Well we got together and wrote a letter of complaint which is going to be carbon copied to all the people we think should know, I mean not even GP's are aware of the situation we have been put in!
So anyone who has been told they have a chance of being referred to DEVON TEAM based in Newton Abbot, don't go without a fight, there is nothing there for you!
