While hunting around for other info  I found this rather ingenious set up on the NAS website where you can do a search for whatever service your are looking for and input either your postcode or location and it will come up with what is available in your area.   Very clever!!!

It's here:

Hi Josie,

Wow...some great resources for those in Scotland!

I knew about the NAS directory as I have a listing there for Asteroids. Guess I just assumed everyone else knew about it too (theory of mind).

Hope your son enjoys his trip..expect you're ready for a well-earned break :)

Hi All

Received this e-mail this evening from Strathclyde Autism Society re the Autism Bill Scotland.

QUOTE

Hello folks,
The Autism Bill (Scotland) is now at a crucial stage in its progress through the Scottish Parliament and is not yet guaranteed a safe passage into law until it passes the Committee stage and the only way for this to happen is if as many people as possible demonstrate their support for it NOW, so please consider submitting written evidence of your own experiences, either individually or as a group - as parents, family members, carers or individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
You can write to express the difficulties that you or your child or adult family member are experiencing, including any support or service issues. You can write about the type of help that you need but don't already get and why the passage of the Autism (Scotland) Bill into law matters to you and to other people with ASD.
The deadline for submitting a written response is the 8th October, which is only a month away, so please don't delay in responding, either individually or as a group.
If you do want to submit written evidence to the Parliament regarding the Bill, there is a guide available in pdf format (see below), which I have attached to this email. If, after reading the guide, you still need help formulating and submitting a response, please contact Raemond Charles or Robert MacBean at The National Autistic Society Scotland office in Glasgow (tel: 0141 221 8090).

Best wishes,
Elizabeth

Subject: Autism (Scotland) Bill - We Need Your Help

Hello everyone,
The Autism (Scotland) Bill is now at a critical stage and we need your help.
As supporters of the Bill you have done an amazing job. The Bill is currently at the Committee stage and we now need to provide evidence to the Scottish Government to demonstrate why the Bill is necessary. To assist families, carers, and individuals who would like to support the Bill, we have produced a guide on how to prepare written evidence for submission. We really need to your help with this, so please take the time to read the guide (attached here) and use it to submit a response.

It would be really appreciated if you could please send this letter and the guide out to all of your contacts, families, supporters and anyone that you who may be interested in supporting the Bill, to enable as many people as possible to make a submission before the deadline. If you an unsure of anything, or would like to ask a question, then please do not hesitate to give either Robert MacBean or myself a call at The National Autistic Society Scotland (tel: 0141 221 8090) or send us an email (Raemond.Charles@nas.org.uk<mailto:Raemond.Charles@nas.org.uk>; Robert.McBean@nas.org.uk<mailto:Robert.McBean@nas.org.uk>).
Thanks for everything that you are doing. Without people like yourselves, we would not have got this far. If you need more information, copies of the report and everything else can be found at www.autism.org.uk/weexist<http://www.autism.org.uk/weexist>. The deadline for submitting evidence is the 8th October 2010.
