Thanks Claire,
This is an important campaign - not only is there a lack of services and a lack of understanding about the issues, the stats and figures show just how much society is failing autistic people, when so many are experiencing mental health difficulties.

Hi Damian,
I spoke with a lady from the Dept of Health today about having adults with autism in advisory or practitioner roles, but I made it clear that I was referring to highly trained proffessional people and that I was not implying these be token roles, but service changing and influencial ones....She thought it was a good idea and looked genuinely like it was a new idea!! Anyway, the seed has been planted, lets hope something begins to blossom!

Dear all,
Here is a link for you to email your MP and ask them to sign up to the National Autistic Societies '''You need to know'' campaign....the more MP's who sign up, the more chance of change for our children ....

Dont forget guys...10 am tomorrow (Friday), BBC Radio 4 - Womans hour...
Hollie and I have been interviewed for a piece with either Lorna Wing or J gould...(not sure who they got to do the expert part, but I have been assured it will be an expert!) and a member of the NAS....This is also as part of the CAMHS 'you need to know' campaign.

Thanks for adding this Michael,
It the same story across the country unfortunately...we just need to keep shouting really loudly about this, but unfortunately if we dont address the schools and all the problems in the other services, more and more children with autism will continue to suffer completely preventable mental health problems...its just not good enough!
