Jake's Journey - Finally diagnosed with Kanner's Autism at 3.5yrs old

Hi, my Name is Jo and I'm mum to a beautiful boy called Jake. We are still waiting for a diagnosis when it's really clear that Jake has autism and is severly affected by it.

I am currently designing a website in the hope that I can help change parent's struggles to attain information or to gain access to services they are entitled to that they may not initially be aware of. Afterall, most of us start out without any prior knowledge of Autism let alone how to parent a child with Autism. To make things easier - without the constant trawling for information, to help parents - to free up their time so that they may have more energy for their 'special child', I have put together a cluster of information where multi-agencies (NHS, Education, Local Authority) can often fail to do so leading to parents finding out about certain services too late which could have made life easier sooner for parents or their family.

Once my website is ready to go live, I would love to be able to share it with as many asd groups as possible.

DON'T GIVE UP THE FIGHT! AUTISM AWARENESS rocks!!!

UPDATE... we are now going to see a top specialist in London after I kept on at our GP, lol... hopefully they'll diagnose Jake so that he won't just be lumped in a special school (the ones in Swale are terrible!). Hopefully he'll get in an asd school... I'll fight all the way!
